A new face in Southmead

Article from the Mead

Some of you will already have met Sam Townend, when he chaired a meeting at the church in Wigton Crescent about our local buses.  He had heard many complaints about route changes and high prices and wanted to give Southmead people a chance to have their say and get answers from First Bus about what was really happening.   Originally from London where he was a councillor, Sam moved to Bristol at the beginning of the year and has been chosen to be Labour’s candidate at the next election when local MP Doug Naysmith retires.  He said, “Everyone has been very friendly and I look forward to meeting many more Southmead residents.  I hope they will carry on telling me their views, ideas and problems.  As Doug once said, ‘I can’t work miracles but I’ll always do my best’.”
