Sam Townend, Labour's prospective MP for Bristol North West says, "I have discussed the Tory pledge of finding money for two new schools for the North of Bristol with the Secretary of State for Schools, Ed Balls, who agrees with me that it is just pie-in-the-sky politics aimed at trying to buy the electorate just before the General Election." Quite apart from funding new schools, the Conservatives have pledged to find £6bn of cuts this financial year...

Yesterday Michael Gove came to a poorly attended meeting in the North of Bristol to promise that a Conservative Government will fund a new school on the Stoke Lodge site in North Bristol.
"The Conservatives have pledged two new schools for the North of Bristol, but have not set out what the cost will be to our five existing schools. I fear funding cuts and even school closures will come with their proposals." says Sam Townend, Labour's prospective MP for Bristol North West

"There will be a funding cost which they have not set out. Even without new schools the...

On Thursday 1st April a group of dinner ladies and catering staff from Sea Mills Primary School will gather with Sam Townend, Labour’s parliamentary candidate for Bristol North West, to call for universal free school meals for primary schools to be included in every party’s manifesto.

Sir,
The hundreds of workers at Airbus and GKN at Filton who have been working on the A400M plane deserve congratulations and a pat on the back following the recent successful negotiations between Airbus, the British Government, and the six other European customer nations of the A400M.
